9 Lunch Ideas For Toddlers

You’ve made it through breakfast, but now what to serve your toddler for lunch?? Here are some fun and easy ideas to take the stress out of lunchtime!
1. Quinoa-Crusted Chicken Nuggets– You can definitely feel good about giving your toddler these chicken nuggets because they are coated with quinoa! (You may want to omit the black pepper out of this recipe.)
2. Mini Pizzas- Top an English muffin with marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, and cut up veggies. Pop in the toaster oven or microwave!
3. Egg White and Sun-Dried Tomato Frittata– This is a hearty lunch or brunch option!
4. Banana Hot Dog- Since hot dogs are a choking hazard for little ones, make them these instead! Spread peanut butter* on both sides of a hot dog bun and stick a banana in it! Viola! A banana hot dog!!
5. Ricotta and Sweet Pea Toast– If your toddler is like mine and spits out their peas, disguise them in this amazing spread and top on any toast or crackers!
6. Pancake Sandwiches- Surprise your toddler with breakfast food for lunch! Spread either peanut butter*, cream cheese, or honey* on a pancake and top with another pancake. They will love it!
7. Gluten-Free Portobello Pizza– “Pizza” without all the dough!
8. Three Cheese Macaroni Casserole– Mac & cheese just got a makeover! Your little one will love this healthy take on the classic dish!
9. Sushi Sandwich- Roll a piece of bread with a rolling pin, then keeping the bread open faced, layer it with whatever your child likes- cheese, meats, or just PB*&J! You can even stick in a few veggie sticks suck as cucumber sticks or carrot sticks. Then roll the bread up very tightly and cut it up into little sushi rolls. Make it fun and educational and introduce them to using chopsticks!

*Check with your child’s pediatrician to see when it’s ok to introduce these foods.
