As fitness coaches one of the daily tasks that is recommended we do is personal development. It’s crucial for your success as a fitness coach (or any entrepreneur for that matter), and only requires as little as 15 minutes of your time daily. Yet, it’s the task that most coaches skip, including myself at first. But I realized that success leaves clues and if successful coaches were swearing by personal development than who was I to think I didn’t need to do it.

So I started reading. And man did it help. It probably sounds stupid if you haven’t tried it yet, but reading personal development books make me a better person all around. A better mother, wife, friend, daughter, sister, you get the point. In addition to making you a better person, it also gives you ideas about what to post on your social media, what to blog about, and the greatest part of all about personal development is that there is a book for anything you want to improve!

If you need marketing tips, there’s books for that. Want to learn how to use social media, there’s a book for that too. Or maybe you need help with self confidence, organization, parenting, creating healthy habits, WHATEVER, there’s a book for that!

So now that I’ve convinced you why you NEED personal development, you’re probably wondering where to start. I highly suggest you start with The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy like I did. If you want to find success in everything you do, then you MUST read this book. I myself, have read this book several times.

Also by Darren Hardy is The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster. I’m honestly obsessed with Darren Hardy and I recommend listening to anything he has to say.

Another book you can start with is The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen. I personally have not read this one yet, but other coaches swear by it as a first book to read and it’s on my list of books to read ASAP.

If you’re looking for help with your network marketing business, there’s Go Pro by Eric Worre. I read this book but it doesn’t totally go along with how I run my business. This book gives you a complete 7 step plan to inviting prospects into your organization. I run my business more with attraction marketing as opposed to random invites, but we all do things differently so maybe this book will help you.

Eric Worre also wrote The MLM Survival Guide if you would like to check that out as well.

Another book to help you with your business is The Morning Miracle for Network Marketers by Hal Elrod and Pat Petrini. I have not read this book yet but it’s on my bookshelf of books to read. It claims to help you with what you need to do in your daily routine in order to be successful in your life and business.

There’s also other books in the The Morning Miracle series such as one called The Morning Miracle: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life.

Then there’s also The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs.

Those are just some is that series to get you started. If you like those, then there are a few more to check out.

Some other suggestions to help you with your business are:

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure by Grant Cardone

Be Obsessed or Be Average by Grant Cardone

Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk

Crushing It!: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence-and How You Can, Too by Gary Vaynerchuk

Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion by Gary Vaynerchuk

If you’re looking for books to help with confidence, which in my opinion we could all use when we are putting ourselves out there on social media, then here are a few suggestions for you.

Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis is one I read recently. It was a good, easy read. It wasn’t one that necessarily helped me with my business but it was a good read none the less. And like I said before, just because it didn’t help me, doesn’t mean it won’t help you. We all need different things in our lives and our businesses.

And she just came out with another book called, Girl, Stop Apologizing.

Also, a confidence book that I’m currently reading is You are a Badass by Jen Sincero.

She also has You are a Badass at Making Money and You are a Badass Everyday.

I love to hold a book and read it, but I know it gets expensive to purchase all these books. You can check your local library or you can also download the Overdrive app. It gives you access to the e-books that are in your public library when you load your library card as well as the books in the universal library.

Then there are also podcasts you can subscribe to. I recommend looking up Chalene Johnson. She has a few podcasts that are very good as well as her son Brock Johnson. And of course you should do some research on your own as to what podcasts will be helpful for you.

One last thing I suggest you subscribe to is Darren Daily. If you’ve made it this far into my blog, then it’s no secret how much I love Darren Hardy. He does a completely free video series that is amazing. Every morning, Monday through Friday, you get a short video sent to your inbox to help you find success in all areas of your like. I highly recommend you sign up for it at darrendaily.com and it’s free!

That’s all the suggestions I have for now. I will update this blog post regularly as I find more books and I hope you find great value in these suggestions.
