Buy Versatile Baby Items To Save Money

When trying to save money, there are a lot of baby items that you can skip. (See my blog, Baby Items Not To Waste Your Money On.) But unfortunately, there are those items that you absolutely need, no way around it. But the good news is, if you buy them the right way, they don’t need to cost you a fortune. These are 5 baby items that can be used in a few different ways so you can buy less.
~When it comes to buying a high a high chair, they can run as high as $200. Then, if you’re like me, and you don’t want to put your child in a restaurant high chair (I’m a huge germaphobe), then you will also purchase a travel high chair, which also comes in handy when you visit relatives/friends, ect. However, why not JUST buy a travel high chair? You can use it at home as well as when you go out. We purchased this travel chair for only $24 at Walmart and we definitely could have used it at home as well!
~Next, buy items that will grow with your baby. Convertible car seats that go from infant to rear facing to forward facing to booster will get you the most bang for your buck. The same thing with a crib. Get one that changes from a crib to a toddler bed. At the time of purchase they may cost a little bit more, but in the long run you will save a ton of money by not having to buy additional items once your baby grows out of them.
~Don’t buy a separate changing table. It takes up a lot of room and then you have to store it when your baby outgrows it. Instead, opt for one that is will attach to the dresser and then come off when you don’t need it anymore.
~When it comes to buying a chair for your nursery you probably won’t always want a glider in there forever, especially when it’s not a nursery anymore, so purchase a chair with another spot in your house in mind. Maybe you can use it afterwards as a decorative chair in your living room or if you have a finished basement. Buy something that you will have a use for somewhere else later on.
Remember, sometimes less is more.
