What’s a summer barbecue without a little cocktail?! If the smell of summer makes you want to crack open a beer or sip a frozen concoction, you’re not alone! However, before you take a sip, consider how many of your daily calories you want to waste on a liquid diet. One pina colada can have as many as 600 calories. It’s fun while it’s going down, but once it makes its stop on your waistline you may think otherwise.
Now you should know by now that I’m never going to tell you to deprive yourself, but what I am going to tell you is to sip smarter. Skip the frozen concoctions altogether and opt for something that will treat your waistline the way you want it to. Instead, stick to a lite beer or if you choose to drink alcohol, go with vodka, which has about 64 calories per one ounce serving. Mix it with club soda which has zero calories and jazz it up with a lemon or lime, or just a splash of cranberry juice. But if you’re feeling like something a little more interesting, packed with flavor, try some of these skinnier versions of their classic counterparts:

Make sure to enjoy these on a full stomach and make sure to drink plenty of water as well, especially if you will be enjoying these along with some fun in the sun.
